In the app, on a post, tap ⋯ and choose Report signal. To report a reply, or a photo on the wall, press and hold it. In chat, press and hold a message or photo, then choose Report or Report image. Pick the reason that fits: child safety, terrorism or extremism, violence or threats, an intimate image shared without consent, harassment, inappropriate content, spam, or something else.
Every report is reviewed within 24 hours. The person you report isn't told who reported them. You can also report by email to [email protected], and that is also where to ask what happened with a report.
Where content breaks our Terms, we remove it from the app, and we may warn or remove the person responsible. Where content may be illegal, such as child sexual abuse material, we remove it from the app but keep it securely as evidence rather than deleting it, and we report it to the authorities, including the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation.
We also check posts, replies and messages automatically against a short list of words linked to serious harm. A match comes to us for review in the same way; nothing is blocked or deleted automatically.
Open their ID Card in the app and choose Block. They can't start a chat with you, send you a request, connect with you by QR code or join a channel you're in, and you won't get notifications from them. You both stay in channels you already share, and can still see each other's posts there; you can leave those from the channel's info screen.
The eSafety Commissioner is Australia's independent regulator for online safety. If a report isn't dealt with properly, or you are worried about serious online harm, you can complain to eSafety at esafety.gov.au/report.
Oktet has no public profiles, no search for people, and no public posts. What you share in a channel can be seen by that channel's members and no other users, and your log is seen only by you. Oktet isn't end-to-end encrypted, so we can access content when we have to, for example to act on a report; our Privacy Policy explains this. Every new account is let in by hand.
Safety concerns: [email protected]. Anything else: [email protected].
